Ubisoft picks up Heroes of the Pacific
Ubisoft picks up Heroes of the Pacific-May 2024
May 17, 2025 1:24 AM

The World War II fighter planes of Australian developer IR Gurus' upcoming aerial combat game, Heroes of the Pacific, are about to make a transcontinental journey, courtesy of Ubisoft.

Ubisoft today announced that it has acquired the rights to publish the game in North America for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. And it's wasting no time in doing so. The console versions of Heroes of the Pacific will hit stores on September 28, with the PC version right behind in October.

The game follows the events of the war from Pearl Harbor on, letting players take part in some of the biggest battles in the Pacific theater of operations, including action over Wake Island, Midway, and the Coral Sea. The game also gives players more than 35 upgradable aircraft to pilot in battles that can have more than 150 planes fighting onscreen.

Heroes of the Pacific is rated T for Teen and will retail for $49.99 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions and $39.99 for the PC. For more, take a look at GameSpot's most recent hands-on impressions.
