Ubi Soft announced Thursday at the New York Toy Fair that it has signed a licensing agreement with Warner Brothers Interactive to create software based on DC Comics' Batman. Beginning in 2000, the two companies will team up to offer titles based on The Adventures of Batman and Robin, the animated series that runs on Kids WB in the US. Titles based on this agreement will be developed for the PC, Dreamcast, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, and PlayStation.
Ubi Soft's New York production studio has already begun design work on the title.
"Warner Bros. Interactive is very excited about this agreement. The Adventures of Batman and Robin is perfectly suited for computer games, with Batman's superhero image, and his personality he is a great fit for the medium," Rob Sebastian, director of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, said in a statement. "Warner Bros. has always been on the cutting edge of technology, and by partnering with Ubi Soft we are taking an aggressive approach to the next level."
