In antiquated military parlance, one Section 8 would end a career for good. These days, one Section 8 is more likely to be viewed as "a good start."
TimeGate will discharge Section 8: Prejudice on the gaming public next year.TimeGate Studios certainly believes so, as the developer today announced a full-fledged sequel to its 2009 sci-fi first-person shooter, Section 8. The follow-up, dubbed Section 8: Prejudice, is expected to arrive next year. No platforms or publishers have yet been announced, though a teaser trailer (below) did give fans some footage to comb through for clues.
The original Section 8 launched just over a year ago on the PC and Xbox 360 to generally positive reviews and received a PlayStation 3 port in March. The shooter eschewed convention by merging the genre-standard match types like escort missions and capture the flag into a single Conquest mode that could have multiple team-based objectives running at the same time. The game also featured a distinctive alternative to respawning, with players dropping from orbit and guiding themselves to their desired location on the map as they fell.
