Now Playing: The Crown - Season 2 Final Trailer
Seasons 5 and 6 will cover the life of the Royal Family in the 1990s and early 2000s, a time period which covers Charles' divorce from Diana and her death in 1997. Season 5 is yet to start production, and won't hit Netflix until 2022.
Despite the fact that six seasons was the original plan, in January, showrunner Peter Morgan revealed that it would end with Season 5. However, six months later, this decision was reversed, when Morgan explained that extra episodes would be required to "cover the same period in greater detail."
Shooting on Season 4 was complete before TV productions was shut down in March, and it hits Netflix on November 15. Olivia Colman returns as Elizabeth, with Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles, and Erin Doherty as Princess Anne. Emma Corrin plays Diana, with Gillian Anderson appearing as Margaret Thatcher. Check out the recent trailer.
