Sony Online Entertainment has announced via the official Star Wars Galaxies Web site that phase 3 of the Star Wars Galaxies beta test has begun today. According to a post on the official forums from community relations manager Kevin O'Hara, 5,000 additional beta testers will be admitted to the game by Friday, and more will be added in the following two weeks. By early May, the beta-testing population will reach 50,000. The post includes a list of fixes and additional features present in the new version of the Galaxies beta.
Star Wars Galaxies is an online role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe made famous by the films of George Lucas. In the game, players will be able to explore planets and settings from the Star Wars universe. Players will be able to base their character on one of the alien races from the movies, such as the Wookiees, Mon Calamari, Twi'lek, or Rodians.
