The PlayStation 4 launch on Friday, November 15 was the biggest release in Canadian gaming history, Sony Computer Entertainment Canada VP and GM Steve Turvey has said.

　　"The launch was a huge success by any standard of measurement," Turvey told GamesIndustry International. "It was by far the largest launch in gaming history in Canada, and we were really thrilled by the execution, but mostly the response by PlayStation fans and consumers."

　　Specific Canadian PS4 unit sales figures have not been released, though Sony said on Sunday that more than 1 million consoles were sold across North America in its first 24 hours. The Xbox One launches in Canada this Friday, November 22.

　　Turvey has been at Sony for the launches of major products like the PSP, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. Prior to joining Sony, Turvey worked at Sega during the launch of the Sega Saturn before moving over to Nintendo for the launch of the Nintendo 64.
