Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Nixxes have announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration has gone gold.

Development on the definitive version of Rise of the Tomb Raider has been completed, and the game is being made ready for shipment to retailers. The 20 Year Celebration edition for PS4 includes a new story chapter, a new co-op endurance, a Limited edition art book, and In-Game Content honoring 20 years of the Iconic Lara Croft.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is the most comprehensive version of the award-winning experience, and includes Rise of the Tomb Raider, the new story chapter “Blood Ties”, “Lara’s Nightmare” zombie combat mode, PlayStation VR support for “Blood Ties”, co-op Endurance gameplay, an “Extreme Survivor” difficulty, 5 classic Lara skins, and an outfit and weapon inspired by TR III. It also includes all of the previously released downloadable content such as “Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch”, “Cold Darkness Awakened”, 12 outfits, 7 weapons, multiple Expedition Card packs, and more.

The special edition for Sony's PS4 was announced back in July of this year to celebrate Lara's 20th anniversary.

“The studio is celebrating with all Tomb Raider fans, thanking them for being on Lara’s 20 year journey with us,” said Scot Amos, co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics. “The team has packed in surprises, new story, and the top-requested special features into this 20 Year Celebration edition.”

“This year we celebrate 20 years of the iconic Lara Croft,” said Ron Rosenberg, co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics. “This provided the perfect opportunity for us to deliver a new Tomb Raider experience. With the addition of PlayStation VR support, you can play the world through Lara’s eyes for the first time in franchise history.”

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will release on PS4 on October 11.  The additional content included will also be made available on Xbox One and PC via the game’s season pass.
