Remedy’s upcoming new game, codenamed Project 7, will be a cinematic third-person action title published by 505 Games.

Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment and Italian publisher 505 Games announced their global publishing deal through an official press release just now. 505 Games, a Digital Bros. subsidiary, will contribute €7.75 million for development funding and will provide marketing and publishing services for digital and retail versions of ‘Project 7’ worldwide.

“It is a sign of how far 505 Games has come that we are now in a position to partner with such a talented development studio as Remedy Entertainment”. – Commented Raffaele Galante, CEO of Digital Bros – “Our mutual life-stages, ambitions and business objectives are actually very well-aligned and we are excited to enter into what feels like a very natural partnership. The agreement fits perfectly with our strategy of continuous improvement of the quality and the potential returns of our portfolio.”

According to Remedy, Project 7, which will make use of studio’s own Northlight Engine, will be a cinematic third-person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe. The game will feature an intriguing story and is said to include a game structure offering a long-lasting experience. Furthermore, the Finish developer states that Project 7 will contain the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy title.

CEO of Remedy Entertainment, Tero Virtala, said “We have a strong vision of what P7 should be. 505 Games brings into this partnership experience and competencies that help us successfully make this vision become reality together. Remedy is also investing in P7 and is deeply committed to creating a unique gaming experience that will keep the players engaged and playing for a long time to come. We are really excited to embark on this journey with 505 Games.”

Remedy officially announced 'Project 7', or P7, last month. The title will be a multiplatform game for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will likely retain Remedy's focus on crafting stories, while also containing cooperative multiplayer elements. A release date for Project 7 has yet to be announced.
