According to a company representative, Simon & Schuster Interactive's latest real-time strategy game, Real War, is on its way to stores and should be available this weekend. The game is based on a tactical combat simulation called Joint Forces Deployment that was originally developed for the US military.
The game features more than 50 different types of real-life units, including infantry, armored vehicles such as the M1A1 and the T80, aircraft such as the F-16 and the B-52, and nuclear submarines. Players control either the US forces or a terrorist group known as the Independent Liberation Army, and each side includes 12 scenarios and around 40 hours of gameplay. Real War was developed by Rival Interactive, and it will be available in stores this weekend for an approximate retail price of $39.95.
