Razer to launch pro gaming academy online-June 2024
Jun 7, 2025 11:29 AM

The last time gamers heard of an institute catered towards learning the skills of pro gamers was from GameSpot's past feature on the Australian-based Gamer Institute. Gaming peripheral company Razer recently announced that it's also jumping into the e-sports learning arena, unveiling a new service dubbed The Razer Academy.

Abdulatif "Latif" Alhmili is one of the contributors for the academy. (Image courtesy of Evo) The Razer Academy is designed to teach casual and competitive amateur gamers the fundamentals of the e-sports scene via guides, game-analysis sessions, articles, and many other methods. Academy contributors include Street Fighter pro gamer Abdulatif "Latif" Alhmili, Rachel "Seltzer" Quirico, Stuart "TosspoT" Saw, Kendall "arCtiC" Smith, Alexei "Cypher" Yanushevsky, and Toby "TobiWanKenobi" Dawson. For the full list of contributors, check out the Razer Academy page here.

Players who wish to join the academy will need to provide contact details and other information, like YouTube Channel views, types of content provided, and the number of e-sports publications involved. Players also need to provide the type of Razer peripherals used in the past and will need to answer whether they are comfortable using Razer-branded gear in the future.

Razer has yet to comment on whether applications for interested parties require additional fees or other stipulations.
