PlayStation Now beta invites are being sent out - did you get in?-July 2024
Jul 18, 2025 3:39 AM

Sony has begun distributing the first wave of beta invites for the PlayStation Now, Sony's ambitious cloud streaming platform that hopes to beam PlayStation 3 games into your PS4, Vita, phone, tablet, or even Bravia TV.

  Did you get in?

Those who receive the email must accept Sony's beta license agreement, and after doing so the testers will be sent more information about accessing the PlayStation Now beta in the "coming days".

In a copy of the e-mail forwarded to GameSpot, Sony advises that participants of the PlayStation Now beta connect their PlayStation 3 to the Internet via a wired connection, which should be at least 5Mbps.

Sony unveiled PlayStation Now, which will offer Netflix-style subscription options, during a keynote at CES 2014, and opened up beta registrations shortly afterwards. The beta is only available to residents in the US, with the service expected to roll out across America this summer.

Yesterday, a Digital Foundry report stated that PlayStation Now is only currently being planned to stream PlayStation 3 titles, and that PS1/PS2 titles will run on PS4 via local emulation.

For more information on Sony's new cloud streaming service, formerly known as Gaikai, GameSpot has compiled everything we currently know about PlayStation Now.
