SYDNEY--Pandemic Studios' Australian team, based in Brisbane, is about to get more company. Fresh from delivering the latest installment in the Destroy All Humans! franchise, the Brisbane squad will be bolstered by the addition of a second team to work on next-gen titles.
The company's Australian operation, which was also responsible for the original Destroy All Humans! and its recently released sequel, was established six years ago and now employs close to 100 employees.
While no specific project for the new team was disclosed, Pandemic president Josh Resnick did say the Brisbane studio would turn its attention to "the development of brand new titles for next-generation gaming systems."
"Pandemic's Brisbane studio has enjoyed great success with the Destroy All Humans! series and we are excited to build on our tremendous base of Australian talent with the addition of a second team," Resnick said.
Pandemic, which also has studios in Los Angeles, is currently working on Mercenaries 2: World in Flames for the PlayStation 3. Other big-name games to come out of Pandemic in recent years include the Star Wars Battlefront series and Full Spectrum Warrior.
