Next Rainbow Six locked down for another quarter-May 2024
May 16, 2025 2:57 AM

Fans of the popular Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series got some bad news today. After delaying Lockdown from March to April (Q1 of the fiscal year for Ubi) and justifying the bump to "boost the beginning of fiscal year 2005-2006 with estimated sales of 1.5 to 2 million units," Ubisoft has pushed the game back once again.

In Ubisoft's fiscal quarter report, the updated release schedule for the publisher's current fiscal year lists Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown as hitting store shelves sometime between July and September. Lockdown was originally scheduled for a spring release on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC.

It seems as though the game has hit more than just a release-window hitch. In addition to its fluctuating shelf date, questions about the game's platforms exist. The newest report mentions nothing of a PC release but has added the GameCube to its list of platforms. Ubisoft was unavailable for comment as of press time.

Rainbow Six: Lockdown is currently in development by longtime Tom Clancy developers Red Storm Entertainment and Ubisoft Montreal.
