Ignition Entertainment has already positioned itself as a publisher of interesting imports, having secured North American releases for the family-friendly fungi of Boing Docomodake DS and the upcoming SNK revamp King of Fighters XII. Now the publisher is adding another import to its slate. It has announced Muramasa: The Demon Blade for a September release in North America.
Bad day on the high seas. Developed by Vanillaware (the team behind eye-catching PlayStation 2 efforts such as Odin Sphere and Grim Grimoire), Muramasa is a 2D action role-playing game set in feudal Japan. As a male or female ninja, players plow through branching, side-scrolling levels and face off against rival ninja, samurai, demons, and a variety of monsters pulled from Japanese myths.
Muramasa will support a variety of control options; players can use Classic Controllers or even a GameCube pad if they don't find the standard Wii Remote-and-Nunchuk options to their liking. It will also feature 16:9 widescreen support. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's hands-on impressions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade from the Tokyo Game Show.
