Square Enix has announced it will produce more Final Fantasy XV collector's editions, which sold out quickly when they went up for preorder last month. However, the company said it cannot guarantee that these new units--which will be offered globally--will make it out in time for launch on September 30.

Click for a full-size viewSquare Enix made these announcements across a series of tweets today, which you can see below. Regarding the potential delay in shipping, the company said this is the result of "factors outside of our control." It also explained that there is only a "chance" that the new batch of Collector's Editions will be delivered late; the company promised to do its best to ensure they arrive on time.

More information about how you can place an order for the second batch will be announced soon.

Only 30,000 copies of the Collector's Edition were to be made available originally. Sold exclusively through Square Enix's online store for $270, it consists of the game, a special steelbook case, an artbook, a Play Art Kai statue of Noctis, a soundtrack, and more. The other special edition, the $90 Deluxe Edition, remains in stock and available.

As you might have guessed, the sold-out Final Fantasy XV Collector's Editions popped up on auction site eBay, where they were listed at and sold for huge markups, with some even going for $700. It's unclear if Square Enix plans to do anything about these resellers, but game director Hajime Tabata previously acknowledged that the company is aware of what's happening.

Good news! We will be producing more #FFXV Ultimate Collector’s Editions which will be available worldwide!

Due to factors outside of our control though - there is a chance these new UCEs may not be ready by Sep 30 (the #FFXV release date)

Final Fantasy XV launches on September 30. A playable demo was recently released; you can read more about how the two versions compare here and what Square Enix has to say about some of the technical complaints here. An anime prequel is also on the way, as is a feature film.
