As the corporate vice president of Microsoft's interactive entertainment division, Peter Moore is dedicated to seeing the Xbox 360 crush the competition from Sony and Nintendo. But as the chairman of the board for the Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers (AEIM), Moore now must work hand-in-hand with Nintendo senior vice president of marketing and communications George Harrison, whose recent election as the organization's vice chairman was announced today.
The news came as AEIM spelled out its agenda for the next year, one that includes a follow-up to last year's inaugural MI6 conference. The two-day MI6 conference--an abbreviation of "Marketing Interactive '06" and a knowing nod to the British secret-service organization--will return to San Francisco next year and take place May 8-9.
Beyond the MI6 conference, the AEIM spelled out a number of initiatives it will focus on during the year, including establishing a brand image and best practices for game marketers to follow. In addition, the organization will dedicate resources to getting its message out to advertisers, as well as forming strategic ties with other players in the game industry outside of the marketing world.
