Medal of Honor devs Fallout at WhiteMoon Dreams -May 2024
May 5, 2025 7:48 AM

With Bethesda Softworks keyed up to loose a nuclear winter later this year with Fallout 3, some top developers of Interplay's original Fallout have begun turning up at startup studios. In October, Fallout lead designer Tim Cain surfaced at NCsoft's Carbine Studios as programming director for the fledgling development house's as-yet-unnamed massively multiplayer online game. Today, Fallout's lead concept designer Scott Campbell has reemerged as the creative director at the newly founded WhiteMoon Dreams.

Campbell joins several other industry veterans at the Pasadena, California-based independent outfit. Serving as president and CEO will be Jay Koottarappallil, who has filled various art roles at Looking Glass Studios, Paradox Development, Insomniac Games, and EALA. WhiteMoon's game director will be another EALA vet, Kevin Mack, whose credits include senior game designer on the Medal of Honor series.

Currently employing 11 staffers, WhiteMoon plans to focus on "AAA titles" for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii. In addition to offering a range of development services, WhiteMoon plans to create original properties that will appeal to the mass-market audience, with an emphasis on strong game design and concepts. The studio currently has one unnamed project in the works with backing from "a major Japanese publisher."

Although currently only a placeholder page, WhiteMoon's just-launched Web site is expected to have more updates from the studio as they develop.
