The upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow has had its release delayed because of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The film was set to hit theaters on May 1, but it has been announced that it will now be released at a later date. This is the latest in a long line of movie and TV show cancelations and postponements.

　　The delay of Black Widow isn't surprising, given the release was less than two months away. Disney had already pushed the release of three of its other upcoming movies--Mulan, The New Mutants, and Antlers, none of which have been given new dates yet. Other big movies that have had their releases postponed include A Quiet Place: Part 2, the Bond film No Time To Die, which now releases in November, and Fast & Furious 9, which won't be with us until April 2021.

　　Many films and shows currently being shot have also had their productions suspended. Disney has stopped work on the Marvel movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, the remake of Home Alone, and James Cameron's Avatar sequels. Other big shutdowns include DC's The Batman, Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings show, and high-profile Netflix series such as Stranger Things and The Witcher.

　　In related news, there is one big star who was unaware of the coronavirus pandemic until very recently. Suicide Squad and Morbius actor Jared Leto has spent the last 12 days on a desert meditation retreat and tweeted that he emerged this week to "a very different world."
