King Arthur: Pendragon Chronicles announced
King Arthur: Pendragon Chronicles announced-July 2024
Jul 5, 2025 9:39 PM

Spore Games has today announced that it is working on a historical real-time strategy game titled King Arthur: Pendragon Chronicles for the PC. The game's "choice of topic was inspired by the King Arthur film produced by Jerry Buckheimer," according to a press release from Spore. Assuming the titular role of Arthur, players will be charged with unifying Britain through battles with barbarian tribes, Saxons, and Picts. Even though the film is being billed as a historically accurate, magic-free account of the warrior who inspired the Arthurian legend, the game will feature mythical creatures such as giants and elementals.

The game will purportedly incorporate role-playing elements and will be divided into two distinct environment types. Large outdoor battlefields will see Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table doing their best to defeat or assimilate all that they encounter. Later in the game, they will search caves and catacombs for 13 artifacts.

King Arthur: Pendragon Chronicles is being developed using a "highly modified" version of the Torque engine that powered the Starsiege Tribes series. For more information on the game, which currently has no publisher or release date, you might like to check out its official Web site.
