Karaoke Revolution taking Wii, 360, PS3 stages-May 2024
May 2, 2025 12:47 PM

Thanks to the likes of MTV Games' Rock Band and Activision's Guitar Hero franchises, the rhythm-game genre is one of the most cutthroat around. Konami is no stranger to rhythm games, either, and the publisher announced its latest offering today: Karaoke Revolution for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. Karaoke Revolution is expected to arrive for all three platforms during the holiday 2009 season.

This is by no means the first installment in its Karaoke Revolution franchise, but Konami has a number of new features planned to freshen up the most recent installment in its long-running karaoke franchise. Of note, the publisher said that the game packs 50 all-new songs taken from master recordings, which can be sung in 16 different "customizable" venues. Konami also said that the game's character creator has been updated with new ways to manipulate facial and body proportions.

Multiplayer singing will also play a prominent role in Karaoke Revolution, with the publisher saying that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions will include a co-op party mode that accommodates play for up to 16, as well as support song, venue, and accessory downloadable content. The Microsoft and Sony console editions also support the Xbox Live Vision Camera and the PlayStation Eye for importing players' own images into the game.

Karaoke Revolution is expected to arrive for all three platforms during the holiday 2009 season.
