After a number of delays the Redbull ECL Grand Finals have finally come to an end with Invictus Gaming winning the best of three series in a very convincing 2-0 victory.
In a somewhat revenge series after Invictus Gaming lost the best of seven series against Team DK earlier this month in the WPC ACE Dota 2 League 2013 sees iG walking away with a first place prize of ¥100,000 (~$16,300) whilst Team DK take home the second place prize of ¥20,000 (~$3,200).
Game Length: 36 Minutes
MVP: The first game was dominated by Hao's Dragon Knight who was laning against Mushi's Queen of Pain which is arguably one Mushi's signature heroes who wasn't really able to win his lane strong enough and rushed a questionable Aghanim's Scepter which came back to bite him in the end due to a lack of a BKB.
Hao's Dragon Knight in combination with YYF's Tidehunter and a lack of BKBs on the entire Team DK side provided Invictus Gaming with ample opportunity to initiate and control the fights. Hao finished the game 12/1/13 on the Dragon Knight.
Bans/Picks:
Invictus Gaming's Bans | Invictus Gaming's Picks | Team DK's Bans | Team DK's Picks |
---|---|---|---|
Timbersaw | Venomancer | Alchemist | Clockwerk |
Enchantress | Storm Spirit | Nature's Prophet | Gyrocopter |
Outworld Devourer | Dragon Knight | Bristleback | Nyx Assassin |
Wisp | Chen | Doom | Visage |
Crystal Maiden | Tidehunter | Dark Seer | Queen of Pain |
Game Length: 37 minutes
MVP: In the second game Invictus Gaming gave up the Alchemist first pick to Team DK in order to secure themselves a Dragon Knight plus Enchantress combo which worked exceptionally well throughout the game. The Dragon Knight this time was played by Ferrari_430 which was just as impressive as Hao's from the first game with Ferrari finishing the game 9/3/15 on the Dragon Knight.
Ultimately the second game was much more convincing compared to the first one due to the fact Team DK had built around their second pick of Invoker. iceiceice was able to play strong on his signature Invoker but ultimately wasn't able to carry the rest of his team who had problems on all of their lanes.
The 2-0 victory sums up Invictus Gaming's performance in the Redbull ECL series where they have been able to deliver a consistent and impressive performance throughout the entire tournament.
