Now Playing: The Last of Us Episode 2 Breakdown, Anna Torv Interview, Social Reactions
On the topic of season 2, the director confirmed that there have been discussions with HBO about a possible second season. "We have had conversations about where we would go if we get renewed," Druckmann said.
"Nothing has been official yet. The response so far has been incredible--reviews, fans, coming off the first episode--so we just pray that people will keep watching, we'll keep having this response, and there'll be more story to tell."
Star Bell Ramsey, who plays Ellie, said in a separate interview that they think a season 2 could happen, saying, "If people keep watching, I think [a second season] is pretty likely. It's down to the guys at HBO."
Elsewhere, The Last of Us fans seem to think that HBO has already cast the role of Abby Anderson for season 2 of the show, despite it not being confirmed.
