Right on schedule, developer 343 Industries has released a new update for Xbox One game Halo: The Master Chief Collection that re-introduces the Halo 4 and Team Hardcore playlists to matchmaking.

These playlists were available upon the game's release in November 2014, but were removed just two days later due to the Master Chief Collection's online woes.

The Team Hardcore playlist, which did not appear on Xbox Live at the time of going to press but is likely still rolling out, currently features Halo 2 Classic game types. Halo 3 game types are coming later through a future update.

343 also has announced that it plans to add even more playlists to The Master Chief Collection over time, including Team Snipers, Team Doubles, and an objective-only hopper.

The latest Master Chief Collection update is not scheduled to be the last. 343 adds that it is planning to release the game's next patch sometime this weekend, after the studio completes testing. This update will include improvements to UI, matchmaking, game-specific multiplayer items, controls, and more.

Full patch notes will be released soon.

The Master Chief Collection launched in November, and immediately faced a number of networking issues that made the game near-unplayable for some. 343 has worked extensively since then to fix the game's online woes, which have now been largely eradicated. In a bid to make it up to fans, Microsoft is giving Master Chief Collection owners a free copy of Halo 3: ODST and more.
