The University of Greenwich at Medway in the UK has today announced that it will be offering two new courses this year, in games and entertainment systems software engineering. The BEng (Hons) course can be studied full-time for three years or as part of a sandwich course over four years, while the postgraduate MSc course will take one year. Both of the courses have been designed to open doors to a range of career options such as 3D artist, programmer, software engineer, or project manager.
"The UK is one of the world leaders in software engineering for games and entertainments systems, and we are delighted to be able to make a direct and valuable contribution to the growth and development of such an economically significant industry," said professor Alan Reed, director of regional liaison at the university.
In addition to academic qualifications, successful applicants will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for the technology behind games, must be interested in working as part of a team, and must be hardworking, determined, and motivated.
