Nintendo never has a booth at the Tokyo Game Show, but that doesn't mean they shun the spotlight. On November 13 and 14, the company will host a special "DS Corner" at the Games Japan Festa in Osaka, a one-hour train ride from the company's hometown of Kyoto. Details on the games that will be shown in the DS Corner have not yet been revealed.
In addition to the DS Corner, the Festa is currently slated to feature 150 kiosks hosting 80 playable titles from 29 companies, all scheduled for winter release. Much like the Tokyo Game Show, the Festa will include game tournaments, raffles for big prizes, and an area where gamers can buy special game-related merchandise.
Keen-eyed observers will note that the Festa takes place the weekend after the Nintendo Touch! DS tour passes through Osaka on November 7. The legions of Tokyo-based gamers won't be left out; the weekend of the Festa, the Nintendo Touch! DS tour will arrive in Tokyo.
The Games Japan Festa will be open from 10am to 6pm on November 13 and from 10am to 5pm on November 14. Admission is free to the public. Publishers participating in the Festa are listed below.
