Tecmo's official web site posted first shots today of Monster Rancher for the PlayStation 2. Although the official title has not been announced, the PS2 version is considered to be a new series rather than a sequel. But some familiar characters from the previous installments will be returning. The graphics will employ the latest cel shading graphic techniques on 3D polygonal characters. The battle system will be basically the same with additional new features, though details have not been released.
The new Monster Rancher for the PlayStation 2 is expected for a spring 2001 release in Japan.
