Some rather notable updates include changes to side quests which will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as Quest Sync when the expansion launches, meaning their difficulty and EXP rewards will be adjusted to match the player's level. As players will be visiting brand new zones in Endwalker, that means new FATEs will also be added to 6.0 areas as well as new Treasure Maps for Treasure Hunts.
Disciple of the Hand or Land players will also be able to complete a series of Studium Custom Deliveries quests, located in Old Sharlayan, which will reward them with new items. The game's spearfishing system has also been overhauled and will now involve a mini-game.
Alongside the latest Jobs, Reaper and Sage, as well as the previously revealed combat adjustments, a few other tweaks will also be made. With 6.0, certain instanced battles will now display character portraits alongside the battle dialogue widget in the Main Scenario. However, players can disable this new option if they wish.
New housing items, mounts, minions, fashion accessories, Manderville Gold Saucer prizes, and Vera hairstyles will be available when Endwalker launches, along with a new face option for male Midlander Hyur. The patch notes also reveal the first look at several new enemies that players can find in the world, as well as the first images of a number of never-before-seen dungeons.
Weapon coffers will also be added to a plethora of duties such as Cinder Drift (Extreme), Castrum Marinum (Extreme), and Containment Bay P1T6 (Extreme), while Allagan tomestones of Allegory, Revelation, and Phantasmagoria will be discontinued.
Recipes and items for gear will also be added for each Job and a long list of items can now be equipped regardless of gender. The patch notes do note that new PvP content is planned for 6.1, while the Pandæmonium raid is scheduled for 6.01. The patch notes with the full list of changes can be found on the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is set to launch on December 7, with early access releasing on December 3. Ahead of the launch of the expansion, Square Enix has apologized in advance for the "high likelihood" of lengthy login queues and other server issues.
