Eric Fenstermaker, who is a writer and designer at Obsidian, was asked on Twitter if the studio "could do another Fallout game, Fallout New Orleans, perhaps."

"I'm always up for working on a Fallout," he replied, "I think most of us generally are. [It's a] really fun property to work with."

Fallout: New Vegas was released after Bethesda's Fallout 3 and garnered praise for its faction and reputation systems. Since then, Obsidian has released South Park: The Stick of Truth--to much critical acclaim--and Dungeon Siege 3.

It also used Kickstarter to crowdfund the development of Pillars of Eternity, a classic RPG in the same vein as Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, and Icewind Dale. Pillars of Eternity received an 8/10 from GameSpot.

Whether Bethesda is interested in letting another studio work on Fallout again is yet to be seen. Until then, there is still plenty of Fallout 4 content in the pipeline.

In November 2015, game director Todd Howard teased the upcoming Fallout 4 expansion packs, saying the direction Bethesda takes with them will be shaped by fan feedback.

"This game is huge, but it's not just this launch," Howard said. "It's going to be well deep into next year. It's like the game is done [does air quotes] but it's not done, because until everybody plays it, it's not really done. Because what they bring to it is really important; we're going to see what people like, what they want more of, what they want different, and we're going to do that."

Fallout 4's DLC was announced in September 2015, before the main game was released. At the time, Bethesda said it didn't know what form the expansions would take, only that they would deliver $40 of value in a $30 package. As of yet further details on the expansions have not been provided. The first of these expansions will be released in 2016.

Fallout 4 launched on November 10 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's review.
