Discreet has announced a licensing agreement with Microsoft to create, publish, and distribute its Gmax game packs for several upcoming Microsoft games. Dungeon Siege, the upcoming role-playing game from Total Annihilation creator Chris Taylor, will be the first game under the deal to include support for the software.
Discreet Gmax gives players the tools necessary to design and create new 3D characters, weapons, environments, and other custom content. The technology will be integrated into the Dungeon Siege game editor, giving players everything necessary to build and play in their own 3D adventures.
Dungeon Siege is in development at Gas Powered Games, and it is scheduled for release in 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game. To learn more about Discreet and Gmax, visit the official Discreet Web site.
