Dead by Daylight's latest DLC pack, Chains of Hate, is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The expansion includes a new Killer, another Survivor, and a wild west-themed map.
The new Killer is known as The Deathslinger, an undead bounty hunter who made a career out of revenge before meeting his bloody demise. He comes equipped with The Redeemer, a heavily modified, hybrid rifle that fires a razor-sharp spear affixed to a chain for reeling in Survivors. Those caught by the chain can struggle to break free or use the environment to pressure the chain to break, stunning The Deathslinger in the process. Doing so will also put the Survivor in the injured state with the Deep Wound status effect applied.

Now Playing: Dead By Daylight - Chains Of Hate Spotlight Trailer
In terms of Perks, The Deathslinger can activate Gearhead for a short duration by hitting a Survivor twice with his basic attack. This means that each time a Survivor completes a Good Skill Check while repairing, the generator will be revealed by a yellow aura for as long as it is being repaired. Dead Man's Switch, meanwhile, activates after you become Obsessed with one Survivor. If that Survivor stops repairing a generator before it is fully repaired, this causes The Entity to block the generator until the Dead Man's Switch effect ends. Affected generators are also highlighted by a white aura. And last but not least, Hex: Retribution occurs whenever a Survivor cleanses a Dull Totem, causing them to briefly suffer from the Oblivious status effect. If any Hex Totem is cleansed, including this one, the auras of all Survivors are revealed for a short time.
Chains of Hate's new Survivor is Zarina Kassir, a modern filmmaker who grew up in a Lebanese household in Brooklyn. Her first perk is Off the Record, which activates whenever she's unhooked or escapes from the hook. While the perk is active, your aura isn't shown to the Killer and any grunts of pain caused by injury are silenced. The Red Herring perk ensures that once you've started to repair a generator, it will remain highlighted with a yellow aura that's only visible to you. The generator stays highlighted until you fully repair it, repair a new generator, or hide in a locker. Entering a locker will trigger a loud noise indicator from the generator that is only visible to the Killer and incurs a lengthy cooldown. Finally, the For the People perk is only active when at full health. By pressing the Active Ability button when healing another Survivor without a medkit, you'll instantly heal them from dying to injured, or from injured to healthy. Instead, you'll become injured and receive the Broken status effect for a duration, and also become the Obsession. Equipping this perk reduces the odds of you becoming the Obsession at the start of the trial.
The new map is titled Dead Dawg Saloon, named after the tavern sitting in the centre of town. The early frontier settlement of Glenvale was previously snuffed out in a gruesome gang war, leaving behind only the dead and the crows feasting on the aftermath. The wild west setting offers something new to Dead by Daylight, with its misty desert locale and wooden structures.
Chains of Hate is now available to purchase for $8. The Dead by Daylight forums includes full patch notes specific to each platform.
