Mythic Entertainment has two pieces of news regarding its popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game Dark Age of Camelot. The game, which was released for the PC in 2001, will see not only its digital realm expanded, but its methods of distribution grow.

　　Dark Age of Camelot: Darkness Rising, the latest expansion for the game, has gone gold and will be available October 11. The new content will include additional realms, player-controlled mounts, and champion quests. Gamers who preorder Darkness Rising through the in-game menu will also receive an exclusive suit of armor for their mounts.

　　Mythic has also announced that trips to the store to pick up a boxed copy of a Dark Age of Camelot game are now legends of days of yore. The game's expansion packs, both present and future, will be available for digital download from Mythic.

　　Darkness Rising and Catacombs, the last expansion released, are available for $19.99 each or as a bundle for $29.99. This month, retail will also get the Dark Age of Camelot: Epic Edition, which includes the original Dark Age of Camelot and all five of its expansion packs for $39.99. Gamers interested in testing out the game before buying can download a 14-day trial of the MMORPG from the game's Web site.
