Now Playing: Call of Duty Warzone 2 New Map Ashika Island Trailer
Ashika Island will also provide opportunities to find the keycards needed to access DMZ's locked Building 21 location. The keycards on the island can be obtained in the same manner as the Al Mazrah map, which includes searching the rare orange loot chests, public supply drop events, and the supply drops earned from SAM Site Contracts or from taking out the helicopter commander.
The blog post also teases a map change and new story details for Al Mazrah. Players will want to investigate the crash of an unknown aircraft at the Sattiq Cave Complex location, and there will be new story intel for the various Factions.
Fortunately, the publisher confirms that players won't lose any Insured weapons slots unlocked through previous Faction mission progress. Additionally, players who haven't unlocked the extra slots will have an easier time making progress with Season 2's changes to mission difficulties.
It's also worth noting that any rewards earned during Season 1 will not be reset. This includes operator skins, weapon blueprints, and any other cosmetics obtained from events and boss encounters.
To complete the reset, Activision says DMZ may have to go offline for a few hours ahead of Season 2's launch, but more details will be shared at a later time.
Spawn points are also being tuned across Al Mazrah. This includes player infill locations, as well as changes to exfil points, boss spawns, and dead drop locations.
When discussing the future of DMZ, Activision says there is no intention of applying a mission refresh every season. "Instead, we're excited to try different approaches each season to continually improve the DMZ experience," the publisher says. "More to come on this in the future."
Season 2 is also expected to bring major changes to battle royale. Players can expect a traditional 1v1 Gulag for the Al Mazrah map, an overhaul to the looting and inventory systems, plenty of quality-of-life improvements, and more. On the multiplayer side, Call of Duty's Hardcore multiplayer mode is finally arriving in Modern Warfare 2. Make sure to check out everything we know about Season 2 of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.
