Legendary Rayman creator, Michel Ancel, has possibly teased Beyond Good & Evil 2, and from the looks of it, we might be looking at a prequel.

　　On his Instagram account, Ancel placed a visual that might very well be related to Beyond Good & Evil 2. The image is accompanied by the following quote from Ancel: “Somewhere in system 4 ... - Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible !”

　　System 4 is the name of the solar system in which the original Beyond Good & Evil is set, so chances are high that Ancel is teasing a sequel to the 2003 game. The visual doesn’t portray Jade however, and from the looks of it, we’re looking at a younger version of Pey'j. Instead of a sequel, we might be looking at a prequel to Beyond Good & Evil instead.

　　Interesting to note is that well-known Nintendo insider, Emily Rogers, retweeted Ubisoft's initial tweet which mentioned Ancel's Instagram post.

　　Over the past months, Rogers has been posting details regarding Nintendo's upcoming NX console. Although non of these details have been confirmed, Rogers has been spot on with her Nintendo "info" in the past. Since Rogers doesn't tweet about stuff that isn't related to Nintendo, we might well be looking at a Nintendo NX version of Beyond Good & Evil 2. Of course, this is pure speculation at this point.

　　Beyond Good & Evil 2 was officially announced back in 2008, but the sequel has been in limbo ever since. During an exclusive Ubisoft dinner in 2011, Ancel confirmed that the game was still in development.

　　"It is still alive and we are very far [into] development so we can't go back now," he said. "We are targeting the next generation of consoles."

　　Ubisoft officially confirmed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 still exists in July 2014 by stating the following:

　　In many ways, BG&E is an inimitable game - it appeals to all generations of gamers and is an inspiration behind many of Ubisoft Montpellier's past and future games. It's still far too early to give many details about this new title, but what we can say is that while Michel and the team at Ubisoft Montpellier are working with the core tenets of BG&E, they're developing something that aspires to push past the boundaries of a proverbial sequel and leverages next-gen technologies to deliver a truly surprising, innovative and exceptional game. The entire team is excited about the direction this extremely ambitious project is taking, and we'll have more to share later, as it progresses.

　　Back in June of this year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont again confirmed its existence during the YouTube Live at E3 broadcast. "Michel is working on it, but he's doing two games at the same time--he's doing Wild at the same time. It's coming along, but he has to spend more time on it, so we can see it faster."
