The Marvel Cinematic Universe's first 21 movies--collectively known as the Infinity Saga--have finally reached the massive throwdown that marks their epic conclusion in Avengers: Endgame. It's here, and even though more and more audiences the world over are seeing Endgame with each passing hour, there's still a lot to know about the movie, and a lot of lingering questions.

　　Now Playing: Avengers Endgame - New Official Trailer

　　If you can't handle the remaining wait, a few early looks at the movie have come trickling out over the last few months. A line of toys give a pretty detailed look at a number of Endgame characters, and the latest TV spot shows some new footage (and a couple jokes) featuring Ant-Man and War Machine. Another teaser trailer contained little different footage, but added some voiceover from Captain America (Chris Evans), suggesting the surviving Avengers are going to split into separate teams as they embark on the mission to bring an end to Thanos. There's also a trailer that gives a look back at the entire MCU in preparation for Endgame.

　　Before that, we saw a bit of footage from the movie that previously had been something only journalists were shown behind closed doors. It gave a clue as to what we might expect in the early going of Endgame: namely, the arrival of Captain Marvel, and her teaming with the Avengers to take the fight to Thanos, wherever he's gone. We also recently saw some more footage behind closed doors that might answer a few key questions. Notably, we've also gotten what could bean important nugget of information regarding the MCU overall, which is that Phase 3 ends with Spider-Man: Far From Home, not Endgame. We had previously assumed Far From Home was the first piece of Phase 4, but it appears that will be whatever comes after that. (Among the movies we know about: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Black Widow's standalone movie.)

　　Outside of footage, there's a lot of other stuff to parse, like the poster that seemingly gives away the return of characters you weren't sure you'd see, or the endless stream of potential theories about how the Avengers could possibly save the universe that was turned to dust by Thanos (Josh Brolin), there's a lot to talk about and analyze. We also have gotten a large batch of new character posters to make sense of. And, finally, we have some sense of how much time has passed since Infinity War.

　　Demand for Endgame is incredibly high. That's perhaps best evidenced by first-week ticket presales, which reportedly almost doubled that of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Avengers: Infinity War, Aquaman, and Captain Marvel combined. That's a staggering figure, and one that perhaps suggests current box office estimates of $200-$250 million in Endgame's opening weekend are too low. After all, Infinity War opened at $257 million. We'll know for sure in just a few days, but the most recent projections have suggested it could be the biggest-ever opening for a movie in the US.

Release Date And Runtime

Clearly, this is the most important piece of information. You have to know when you're going to get to see Endgame. Thankfully, you won't have to wait too long. Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on Friday, April 26. Of course, given how movie releases work, that means you should have your first chance to see it the evening of Thursday, April 25.

　　With tickets on sale, we've also finally received confirmation of the film's runtime: Endgame will be a whopping three hours and one minute long, making it the longest MCU movie to date.

　　

When To Pee

Being such a long movie, some of us are going to have issues sitting in a theater for such a long, uninterrupted period. We have some recommendations on taking Endgame pee breaks, but just be aware this is a packed movie that doesn't leave a lot of great opportunities to go.

　　

After Credits

With Endgame effectively marking the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, it's a major milestone for both Marvel and fans alike. We're used to seeing every Marvel movie punctuated with mid- and after-credits scenes, often that tease what's to come next. We have very little insight into what Phase 4 will consist of, and sticking around through Endgame's credits won't necessarily help. There aren't any Endgame end-credits scenes, although there is something at the very end that may or may not be meaningful.

　　

Tickets

Endgame tickets went on sale and saw a massive rush from excited fans. The first release in early April saw some major issues as ticket sites crashed from consumer demand. Of course, people who did nab tickets are happy to sell you theirs for ridiculous sums of money.

　　

Ant-Man And Thanos's Butt

A popular (albeit ridiculous) theory to grow in popularity recently is the idea that Ant-Man will defeat Thanos by shrinking down, entering his butt, and then growing to a mammoth size. It's the kind of thing you wouldn't expect to get much traction, but the Russo brothers thought enough of it to change their Instagram profile picture to reflect the joke. Joe Russo has even talked about it.

　　

All The Trailers

We've seen a few trailers for Avengers: Endgame--plus a Super Bowl commercial, a "special look" promo video, and a trailer looking back at the entire MCU. There also have been some TV spots that also give short looks at the movie. The first trailer for the movie arrived back in December, showing us the glorious returns of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd)--who were absent during Infinity War. That trailer was followed by the Super Bowl commercial, which gave us a look at what became of the world after Thanos snapped his fingers. It's not pretty.

　　The second full trailer shows the remaining Avengers assembled and introduces Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Those wondering how she came into the picture should definitely catch up on our post-credits explainer for the Captain Marvel movie.

　　There's also a new trailer that doesn't focus on Endgame, but runs through all the movies that brought us there, providing a pretty incredible summary of the last 11 years of movies.

　　The aforementioned "special look" trailer features footage showing Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), having made it back to Earth, reuniting with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and reconciling with Steve Rogers. We also get some new dialogue from Thanos, some additional shots of Captain Marvel, and more. Another teaser gave us new dialogue from Captain America, and another new teaser dropped in some fun moments with Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and War Machine.

　　

Trailer Breakdowns

Of course, when footage arrived, we had to comb through it for every little detail. The first trailer gave us some hints about what happened to characters we didn't necessarily see turn to dust, while the latest trailer leans heavily on connections to the MCU's past. Then there's the Super Bowl commercial, which confirmed that Captain America is getting his trusty shield back, which hopefully makes up for the loss of his beard and his buddy Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

　　We also have a breakdown of the special look trailer, where we get to see Thanos, Steve seemingly in the immediate wake of his beard-shaving, Hawkeye with a new tattoo, and a whole lot else.

　　

First Clip And 10 Minutes Of New Footage

Marvel showcased footage from Endgame and CinemaCon, and then premiered 10 minutes of footage for the press. We learned a variety of new details from the latter (such as how much time has passed between Infinity War and Endgame), and it looks as if at least some of that video will become public before the movie's release. The first Endgame clip has been released, and it addresses a key question: Where has Captain Marvel been?

　　

Spoilers In The Wild

Just two weeks before the release of Endgame, a cellphone video of a sizzle reel showing a bunch of footage appeared on Twitter and Instagram. Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have responded to the leak, and the clips have been mostly scrubbed from social media, but the information is still out in the wild. With only days remaining before the movie's release, being online now carries the risk of twists being spoiled. Here's how to avoid seeing anything about Endgame you don't want to--but the best advice is to just stay off YouTube, Reddit, and anywhere else trolls like to linger if you don't want to see anything early.

　　

Character Posters

To celebrate the one-month-to-go mark, Marvel released a ton of new character posters. Each of these is adorned with the movie's release date and the text "Avenge the fallen." But more meaningfully, the color scheme of each poster was different based on whether that character is alive or dead following Infinity War--those still alive are in color, while those who are dead are in black and white. This revealed to us the fate of both Valkyrie and Shuri, the former of which had been a complete mystery until now.

　　

Toys, Legos, And Funko Pops

Endgame's release nearing, companies ramped up the merchandising. We're seeing many of the toys that will be released to tie in with the film, including a wide range of Funko Pops. More telling might be the Lego sets, which could provide some insight into what to expect to happen in the movie.

　　A new line of Avengers: Endgame toys also include a whole host of characters, and give a pretty detailed look at folks like Captain America, Ronin, and Thanos.

　　

Our Best Theories

With so much mystery swirling around Endgame and how, exactly, the Avengers plan to undo the mass genocide unleashed by Thanos, there are plenty of theories to dig through. For GameSpot, the sky was the limit when it comes to theorizing what's to come. After seeing the first trailer, we were convinced the Avengers would travel back in time to fight Thanos. Meanwhile, the Super Bowl commercial has us wondering if Nebula (Karen Gillan) was actually helping to stop Thanos or if she was perhaps helping him as some sort of a double agent.

　　

Stan Lee's Cameo

No, we don't know what Stan Lee's cameo will be in the new film just yet. However, we do know one was filmed before the legendary comics figure passed away in late 2018. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that there were still a couple of cameos left and that one of them was for Endgame.

　　

What To Catch Up On

If you're not caught up on the MCU heading into Endgame, that can be daunting. With over a decade of movies to wade through, surely they can't all be integral to the plot, right? What Comes Next In Phase 4

With so much hinging on Avengers: Endgame, how can Marvel possibly follow it? At this point, a lot of the future of the MCU remains unknown. For instance, there's no telling which of the original Avengers will actually survive the fight that's coming in Endgame.

　　That said, we do have some hints about what happens next in the MCU for Phase 4 and some idea of what the film and TV--yes, TV-- future of this franchise looks like. Arriving later in 2019 is Spider-Man: Far From Home, a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland's Peter Parker and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. As far as we can tell, this is is set after the events of Endgame. However, the world looks no worse for wear after Thanos snapped it all away, which could be a tease of how he'll be dealt with in the fourth Avengers film. Regardless, Marvel boss Kevin Feige says Far From Home, not Endgame, is actually the end of Phase 3.

　　Additionally, we know that another Doctor Strange movie is in the works, as well as a Black Widow standalone project, and a film about Kung Fu master Shang-Chi. On the TV side, there are a number of projects in development for Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+. There will be a series based around Loki (Tom Hiddleston), as well as one featuring Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). It remains to be seen if these will be set before or after Endgame, though it's worth noting all three of those characters were killed in Infinity War.
