Jazz Multimedia announced that it is getting into the Voodoo2 arena with its upcoming Renegade 3D card equipped with 8MB or 12MB of memory.
Available March 31, the board will sell for US$229 (8MB) and $299 (12MB).
In-depth configurations for the 8MB board will place one 4MB frame buffer with two 2MB texture engines. The 12MB model will have one 4MB frame buffer and two 4MB texture engines.
"Jazz Multimedia listened to the requests of gamers who want a powerful, realistic arcade experience on the PC," said Patrick Lucci, chief operating officer of Jazz Multimedia. "Our customers have eagerly awaited a 12MB Renegade 3D card, and our solution promises to deliver the performance they want at a price they can afford."
Initially the board will be released as a PCI version with an AGP version of the card to follow. The only title to be bundled with the board will be Rage Software's Voodoo2 enhanced version of Incoming.
