Counter-Strike: Condition Zero moves to Gearbox
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero moves to Gearbox-May 2024
May 11, 2025 4:02 PM

Valve Software has announced that the development of its upcoming first-person shooter Counter-Strike: Condition Zero has moved to Dallas-based Gearbox Software, the studio that created the expansions Half-Life: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift. Several of the developers who created the original Counter-Strike will also work on the project.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will add a single-player version to the popular Half-Life multiplayer mod Counter-Strike. It will feature a full single-player campaign that will let players play through once as a terrorist, and then play through again as a counterterrorist. The game will also feature a cooperative mode, 12 new weapons and items, and a number of new character models and multiplayer maps. In addition, the game will feature Valve's voice and spectator technology.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is scheduled for release this holiday season. For more information about Counter-Strike, take a look at our full review of the game. We'll have more information about Counter-Strike: Condition Zero soon.
