After hearing about a small problem affecting some purchasers of Combat Flight Simulator, GameSpot News spoke to Microsoft to find out how the effort to correct the problem is going.
To date, Microsoft has received 20 calls regarding a persistent disc error encountered by some gamers and has yet to determine specifically what the problem is. A company spokesperson said that the problem isn't with the install program itself.
Microsoft's latest theory is that a manufacturing problem has occured on a few of the discs. The problem is so slight that most CD-ROM drives aren't affected but certain CD-ROM drives can't get past the CD glitch and this is where the problem lies.
If you are having a trouble with CFS, give Microsoft technical support a call, and you'll receive a replacement disc in the mail.
