For most gamers still playing this year's high-octane Burnout Paradise, Criterion Games' Davis update is where it's at. After all, with the arrival of the free August update, gamers will at long last have the chance to wrap their shiny new motorcycles around Paradise City's telephone poles at night.
However, with August still a few months off, Criterion has one more free update left to be rolled out of the garage in the meantime. Titled Cagney, the latest revamp of Burnout Paradise is what Criterion is calling the biggest yet, and will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 10.
The Cagney patch is the third to be implemented to Burnout Paradise, and adds a bevy of new content as well as a host of tweaks and bug fixes to the original game. The most marked enhancement is the addition of three new Freeburn game modes and 70 Freeburn challenges. Other game tweaks include the addition of two new cars, four unique liveries, and a host of tweaks to ranked matches. The patch will also allow PS3 gamers to create custom soundtracks.
