People have disappeared. A hero is needed.
Enter the dungeon and fight your way down into its depths.
Can you stay alive long enough to save them and find out what evil is lurking in the dark?
Tales of the Shepherd is a roguelike inspired by the look and feel of classic ASCII games, while also adding new mechanics and unique gameplay elements.
The project is in active development since October 2020 and has finally reached the initial beta state. Be prepared for future updates, containing more mechanics, NPCs, enemies and completely new zones.
The game is still a work in progress.
We would really love to get your feedback and will continue working on this idea.

How to install Windows
You can simply download the zip and extract it to your preferred location. The extracted folder contains the game.
Linux & other OS
There is no bundled version of the game for other operating systems. Instead the game can be downloaded as a JAR-file. Since it's written in Java, the game is cross-platform by design. You will have to install Java 8 or newer though, to be able to play it.
Compatibility has only been tested for Linux, but most operating systems with a Java Runtime Environment installed should work.
