Outwith (Demo) Open world First Person Fantasy RPG
Hi, and thanks for viewing my game page.
A little background and motivations
This project is basically my life's passion - not forgetting my girlfriend and our dogs of course ;)
I've made games before much smaller games but this - working title Outwith is the game I've always wanted to make.
I feel that as gamers our time and money is limited and what we choose to spend our money on and what we spend our time playing is incredibly important. I want to honour this by making the best possible game I can and something I can feel proud of and be passionate about. I hope that the end result is a game that players will consider choosing to buy and spend their time playing.
About the game
Outwith is an open world fantasy game. The mechanics are loosely similar to other more popular Open world fantasy games with a few tweaks.
There are currently 3 different play-style classes available
meleemagicstealth Starting classes offer a bonus in the above disciplines any of which can be mixed to produce a variety of combat experiences. This is all work in progress but the fundamentals should be there and offer a playable experience.
My plan has been to create a freely-available playable demo which is downloadable from this page.
Over time I plan to polish this demo and gather feedback. Then iterate based on any feedback until the point where there is sufficient interest in the game and I'm comfortable with it's state that it can be released as a paid for game.
There's still a long way to go but the demo in it's currently state is playable and offers around an hour of gameplay
There's a large starting open scene to explore and some connected caves.
There are a few quests - with dialogue and maps
There's also a village with some shops where you can stock up on supplies and sell loot.
There's the bare bones of an alchemy system - only supports brewing health potions at the moment.
Several different enemies to fight
Enemies have a variety of combat styles - unarmed melee, armed melee, ranged magic.
Keyboard and Mouse and Controller are supported - Controller mostly works although some of the UI buttons may not focus correctly (you might have to grab the mouse for those instances when that happens).
Finally I'd just like to say again thanks for stopping by. You can download the demo using the link below.
Thanks again
Jeff
To download and try the demo - get the Itch.io app and download the game from there or use the link below.
The game is already quite large at over 4gb I'd recommend using the Itch.io app as it will allow you to get the latest updates without having to download the game every time as a zip file.
